I've been lucky this year with the homegrown tomatoes in the greenhouse.
Last year we lost loads to blight, this year they have been coming on strong and rather beautiful too.
Here is one dark Gothic looking beauty that I am very proud of that I felt i had to share it on it in its own glory.
I am sharing this with JibberJabber UK for Sunday Snap and My Sunday Photo hosted by One Dad 3 Girls.

Wow, that is quite a tomato! Enjoy eating it! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy.
DeleteMy tomatoes have been terrible this year. I grew all the plants from seed, got flowers but not a single tomato! I love it when you can grow something different from what you can buy in the supermarkets.
ReplyDeleteI agree its amazing what you can grow from seed and not get from the supermarket, although my tomatoes are good - the rest of the veg , esp the brassicas have been decimated
DeleteAbsolutely fantastic photo!
ReplyDeleteCaught my eye right away :-)

Thank you so much Steph
DeleteI like it, is it a Black Russian tomato? Almost like a little pumpkin :)
ReplyDeleteYes Happy Homebird - it certainly is a Black Russian tomato.
Delete:) I have tried to leave a comment on your blog a few times, but unsure about Disqus, not familiar with it - can you reassure me, as it would be nice to repay the compliment of coming by on your blog too. I do gander - but haven't been able to leave a comment
Ooo I bet that tasted good
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Thank you so much.
DeleteHey we have those in our greenhouse too, one weighed About 600g! I find they make a lovely, tangy marinara sauce despite the duller colour when cooked. What do you make with yours?
ReplyDeleteShame about the colour when cooked. We have been eating them fresh mostly in a side salad, but I do have cooking plans for the others when harvested
DeleteI've heard of purple ones, but not black. Great accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteThank you Betty l
DeleteThese are Black Russian, not really black but sort of give that impression
Nice produce! Quirky looking and coloured tomatoes are great.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we are pretty happy with them.
DeleteWe are lucky with our cherry tomatoes as well even if the caterpillar massacred my plant! This one looks lovely! #mysundayphoto
