As I wrote yesterday, its not quite summer yet, but the strawberries in my garden are beginning to reward us, ripening slowly but surely.
Yesterday afternoon, I harvested a whole punnet. I recently made some Strawberry Flapjacks, but always welcome recipe suggestions - sweet or savoury.
I am sharing this Punnet of Strawberries with Daphne's Dandelions for Harvest Mondays. Sharing this time round made me smile a little as around this time last year I also shared Punnet of Strawberries.

Yum yum! I've just had my first strawberry harvest for the season as well. They don't look anywhere near as nice as yours, however. I'm thinking that I'll be changing up my varieties when I start a new patch in a year or two.
ReplyDeleteOh Margaret, your very kind. Thank you. I hope yours improve with time, or as you said, change the variety. I don't now what variety mine are actually, as they were there from the previous home owners and produce new runners each year.
DeleteBeautiful strawberries! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty pleased with them and there was not much I had to do, thankfully. Plenty more to come, so be warned strawberry recipes coming.
DeleteYou and me are in the same strawberry boat! I've got a week's worth of recipes coming up too, looking forward to seeing yours!:)
DeleteThank you. and look forward to seeing yours too
DeleteStill waiting for my strawberries ... nothing but flowers right now!
ReplyDeletePatience will reward you Susue, just a matter of more subsiding days and then you can feast
DeleteFew things are as nice as a home-grown Strawberry, freshly-picked! I never have very many, so I like to eat them plain, not made into anything. (Well, perhaps with a bit of clotted cream added...)
ReplyDeleteClotted cream sounds good, but we have loads coming - so there will be baked goodies and maybe some jams!
DeleteStrawberries are my favorite harvest this week. I've mostly been making smoothies and muffins with them.
ReplyDeleteI did see your wonderful harvest. Smoothies sounds good, but I am thinking muffins too. I made some a few years back called strawberry cheesecake muffins, so may make them again.
DeleteSorry I've not popped by the blog recently but thanks Shaheen for the lovely messages on mine :) I've only had one good punnet of strawbs so far this year from M&S so quite fancy getting some more to try your flapjack. xx
ReplyDeleteSally - please don't apologise - I understand. I remember where i was 2 years ago and it took a while to get out of that rut, things are much better now so I wish you the same.
