This quote from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is very pertinent right now with the crisis in Syria and the refugees.

Marseille Streets and Graffiti Art
Here are some more photographs from my holiday in Marseille, South of France. I continue to share with you some more photographs of Marseille Street Art.
And some of Marseille Streets
I liked this one as it has a sticker of one of the movies that had an impact on me: La Haine (1995) and here is a relatively recent article by The Guardian on what has changed 20 years on? Here is a link to the trailer if you interested.

Marseille Street Graffiti Art
A couple of weeks back, I went on holiday for a week in Marseille, South of France.
I have a lot of holiday photographs to share, for readers of my blog, also for family and friends to look at, but today I share some photographs of Marseille Street Art. I do have a load and I mean a load more to share, but lets begin with these.
l am liking this one very much. Its of a young kid dressed wearing a Marseille Football shirt. I like his and his dogs goofy smile.
Around the corner is either his brother or friend. If you click on the image, the houses in the pictures, are cleverly done - many were 3D.
Marseille Fisherman with sardines.

Its in Belgium
Crispy frites, hot milk melting chocolate off a stick and fruit beers - yes we were in Belgium a few weeks back for our first holiday in four years.
And more specifically in Bruge popularised moreso since the release of the movie In Bruges with the talented Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell.
It was proper touristy, which was a bit of a shock for us as we thought going in late October it would have been a bit quieter and not so rushed, but we were so so wrong. Still we had a pretty good time there. We took loads of pictures, but have been selective here. We did everything that is expected, we walked 366 steps up the Beltower, gosh that was hard.
Here is proof that I did it, pictures of the bells and it was 12.00, oh it was amazing and so loud.
Sampled some chocolate. My food head was not screwed on as I was just enjoying the holiday experience. I even overlooked the abundance of chocolatiers, so there is distinct lack of food photographs here, yes I know very unusual of me.
Admiring a map of the city in lace form.
.. the canal boat ride ...Look close at the picture below and you will see a sleeping dog in the window, apparently this dog has also become a tourist attraction as it is often seen there. In fact if you ever watch the movie In Bruges, even if you watch the movie trailer - the dog does make an appearance, so it must be true.
A little bit of the quirky.
A beer and a farewell to Bruge.
Here we are still in Belgium, but this was a short pit stop on our way back to the Euro-Tunnel in Calais, France.

Dreaming of Britanny
Around this time last year, I was on holiday in South Finistere in the Bretagne region of France.
Early this year, we had planned to take a camping trip around France and Brittany. We had even purchased a book of campsites around France, but sadly with things happening outwith my control, it has got pushed further and further into the background.
So instead I am taking a trip down memory lane of our last holiday with the nephews.
I don't think I shared some of the foodie related treats I bought back with me, so here are some: tea towels; popular Mama Goudig moulds
A tin of biscuits; some crêpe related gadgetsr and a recipe cookbook.
D was rather taken by Mam' Goudig, so here are a number of other novelty things such as toppers, an ingredient board, salad bowl and an enamel mug for hot apple cider. As well as Black Buckwheat flour, cider and some tiny serving cider cups.
Edible purchases were violet jam, violet syrup, rose liqueur, mint syrup and sea salt.
I have to be honest and tell you that I still have not opened the first three. Naughty really. I better check out the sell by date.

Good memories left behind
Last month, my dear father-in-law passed away. I will miss him. I will also remember him with love, fondness and great affection.
The last time I saw my father-in-laws smile was when we were in Cyprus for our holidays. I’ve already posted photographs from our visit to Kato Pathos, Cyprus.
such as eating spanakopittas, olive and tahini pies.
sticky orange fingers, geckos and flight of the eagle.
sights, sounds and smells
vegetarian eating out in Cyprus
drinking glykos
as well as my father-in-laws Cypriot red wine and Greek ouzo. I will fondly blame him for my sloe berry pursuit in order to make his friends sloe gin. In fact he also innocently introduced me to a new alcoholic drink combination 'ouzo with cranberry', which of course I enjoyed very much.
I don't recall sharing photographs from our long weekend in Northern Cyprus, part of the world my father-in-law really wanted D and me to see. So please allow me to walk down memory lane, this was perhaps my most memorable of times overseas, Thanks to my late father-in-law and mother-in-law for some wonderful memories that I will never forget.
Crossing the Cypriot Border into Turkish controlled Northern Cypriot territory.

Some souvenirs I was eyeing up, but decided not to get due to the weight.

I remember my father-in-law having lahmucan, a Turkish pizza served with spicy minced lamb, whilst we had freshly made sigara boregi (a flaky pastry filled with cheese and spinach).
In Salamis about 6 miles from Famagusta.
