Wow - its been well over a month since i have blogged.
Home life and work have both kept me busy that I am tempted to stay away from the home computer screen for a little while longer, but I do enjoy joining in with In My Kitchen Series hosted by Sherry's Pickings.
So here I am with a handful of things to share in my kitchen. Starting with a box of fine chocolates that D picked up for me, when he went to see his mother (and sister) for the second time since lockdown. My mother in law picked p this really gorgeous cake slicer - just look at the pretty detail on the handle. My mother in law and her friend also picked me up this little sweet tin for holding mints. Its adorable. You have no idea how wonderful it was to receive the gifts - really cheered me up.
Another gift, came from my brother who came by briefly and stayed in the garden. He did not come empty handed and brought me baklawa.Something that will make you smile - In my kitchen are some soft toys - some in the shape of fruit and vegetables, including a squeaky doughnut - courtesy of my nephew.
May I introduce you to our new puppy - a playful and curious Jack Russell who likes hanging out in the kitchen. He has been in our life since May and is nearly three months old. Indeed he has been keeping both D and me occupied.
Okay, I am signing off now to walk my puppy in the garden. By the way, i am having my second vaccine next week, so that will also make me feel more comfortable travelling a bit more further away from home.
Your puppy is very cute. Does he have a name or do you just call him Puppy? He's lucky to have you and his homemade treats! Glad to know you and D are well.
ReplyDeleteThank you e. Yes, he has a name, but i am going to call him on my blog Puppy for a little while longer.

P.S. do you know which email sub service you are changing to? i'm going to try Follow.it as others have said it's easy to use.
Thank you Sherry.
DeleteI don't quite understand the question, but its hotmail. I haven't made any changes
Oooh! You have a pup and received unexpected gifts! Aren’t you lucky 👏
ReplyDeleteYou’ve been missed, but a valid excuse I think 🙂
Have fun!
Thank you Belinda.
DeleteI am missing blogging a bit, and cooking but time is packed. even the garden plot is a bit neglected, though i am growing some veg. which i hope to share soon
So glad to read you and see you are going well! I was worrying!
ReplyDeleteThe cake slicer is a beauty!
And what about this fur kid!!!!!!!!!!!! Adorable! Lots and lots of work though, but so much fun!
Have a nice week-end, all of you!
Thank you so much.
DeleteYeah, fur kid! Lots of work, keeping me really busy.
Oh I adore Jack Russels, they are really nice dogs. I'm sure you've been having nice and busy times with the new puppy! Glad to see you blogging though, I must say I was a little bit worried.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. He's certainly keeping us busy with his personality.
Deleteyour puppy looks very cute and lovable. He's lucky to have found you and your kitchen.
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Mae. He is cute and naughty, but most def. loveable.
DeleteI have a similar cake slicer, they are lovely. Baklawa never last long in our home, they are so moorish. Enjoy your new puppy, he is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Moya.
DeleteWonderful news that you have a dog. I expected a cat when I saw the toys but your dog looks gorgeous - more photos please! Have you had a lot of work training him? It is also fantastic to hear you and D are seeing family - it is one of the saddest parts of covid lockdowns, how families get separated. The gifts from D's trip look gorgeous. And baklawa sounds like something you would be unlikely to make at home so I am sure that was really appreciated. I hope the dog will help you recover from the effects of the lockdown and that the 2nd vaccination will give you some protection and peace of mind! Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteThank you Johanna. I will def. share more photo's but want to ensure this stays a food blog, with occasional paws - in the way you balance your blog with Shadow(and Zinc x). D' got to see his family, i could not go as i had not had my second jab and we only had the pup, who also at the time di dnot have his second jab. We def. been out and about a lot more in the past week, than we have been in the past 16 months!
DeleteHi Shaheen,
ReplyDelete...WOW!...what an adorable pup...he definitely reminds me of our Jack...now 16 years old...and also a tri-colour...although he would demolish a toy like that in about 5 minutes...haha...you'll have to do a review of the bacon...I've not seen it over here...
~Have a lovely day!
Thank you so much Teresa. Love the Tricolour!
DeleteOh, what a precious pup! I bet he is a delight. And I have no doubt he loves your cooking!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Delightful and naughty, but we love him to bits. Yes, he has had some home cooking - doggie banana muffins and carrot muffins - not the human muffins.
