I launched my blog Allotment2Kitchen in 2009 highlighting some of my most thumbed through Vegetarian and Vegan cookbooks.   This year I thought I would share 10  of my favourite Vegetarian and Vegan Cookbooks from the decade from vegan and vegetarian writers, not food writers who have jumped on the vegetarian and vegan bandwagon to appease their audience (thoughI will admit, I do have some of those books).

My 10 Best Vegetarian - Vegan Cookbooks of the Decade

Afro-vegan by Bryant Terry
Cooking Up A Storm Laura Dakin from Sea Shepherd's
Dirt Candy by Amanda Cohen & Ryan Dunlavey
The Gentle Chef
For The Love of Food Denis Cotter

Prashad At Home by Kaushy Patel
Meat Free Any Day by Sarah Beattie

Street Vegan Adam Sobel
The Super Fun Times Vegan Holiday Cookbook by Isa Chandra Moskowitz

V is for Vegan Kerstin Rodgers

So, what was your favourite vegetarian or vegan cookbook from the last decade?

  3. Wow congratulations on 10 years - so glad you are still blogging and continue to be one of the genuine and interesting voices in food blogging. I admire all your headers - I haven't changed mine for ages but want to if only I had the time and inspiration. Nice new header!

And the book that I remember that I have enjoyed cooking from the most over the past decade is Isa Does It. It is a good mix of interesting and achievable. So many cookbooks do either one or the other! But I am sure there is lots more good stuff I can't remember!

    1. Thank you so very much Johanna.
Must admit, its D that does my headers, i think he gets a kick out of doing it, decided to go with a background as well - the pestle and mortar - not sure if it makes the blog look busy.

  6. hi shaheen
your new look blog jumped out at me (in a good way) when i opened it up today. wow. looks spectacular. i'm not a vego or vegan so i don't have any specific books on it, but i do love cookbooks as you probably know:-) so there are plenty of recipes abounding in the books i do have. ah no i've just remembered i have some molly katzen books which are vego. and one by alison holst the NZ writer. good stuff. cheers sherry

    1. Thank you Sherry. Yeah, the background is a new feature, i tend to keep it plain, but thought a change may do my blog good. I have books by both food writers you mention on my shelf.
